Author: Jandy Nelson

Genre: Contemporary, young adult.

Synopsis: Two twins, Noah and Jude, are inseparable, until a tragedy strikes them apart. They both fall for guys they can't have. In this epic tale of tragedy, romance, heartbreak, relationships, family and chaos, we follow along a thirteen year old Noah, and a sixteen year old Jude, uncovering one secret after another.

I personally enjoyed every single line of this book. It was so thrilling. I felt so many emotions. I smiled, I cried, I laughed and I rolled my eyes. This book made me feel all the emotions.

I loved and hated NoahandJude. They were both naive little teens, and both had done pretty horrible things to one another due to spite and jealousy, but at the end of the day were always there for another. It's like i'd definitely give a kidney to my sis, but not let her have the last slice of cake. So props to Jandy, for displaying the relationship of the siblings so perfectly.

If we have to play the blame game for all the chaos, I personally blame the mum. She was a disaster!! Clearly showing more affection to your son than to your daughter, then when daughter reacts, calling her out for behaving badly, instead of having a real talk with her, then cheating on your husband, kicking your husband out of the house, when son catches you cheating, hysterically driving to your own death. Wow Dianna Sweetwine, you weren't really that smart now, were you?

Lets talk characters:

I really loved Noah. Firstly, he really spoke the language of my heart.

Reality is crushing. The world is a wrong-sized shoe. How can anyone stand it?

This dude gets it.

Anyways, other than him being very accurate about the situation of this world, I really enjoyed the anxious thoughts he had when he was with Brian, or when he was doing literally anything. It was a perfect portrayal of anxiety and how even the simplest situation can be converted into the most complicated one, simply due to the power of anxiety.

I personally felt a way stronger connection with Jude than Noah. She is such a headstrong character. she had to endure everything that Noah had to endure, but alone, without the support of either of her parents.

I didn’t know you could get buried in your own silence.

Oscar and Jude are my favourite young adult couple. Although it took Oscar a while to get his head straight, dude got it right in the end.

"I gave up practically the whole world for you,” I tell him, walking through the front door of my own love story. “The sun, stars, ocean, trees, everything, I gave it all up for you."

The ending was so perfect! Throughout the story I was afraid that one of them will die, and the thought of that did not sit well with me, but no! The ending was everything I wanted it to be, and more. The novel ended with the most idyllic message;

Quick, make a wish. Take a (second or third or fourth) chance. Remake the world.
