Oh my god! This is hands down one the best fantasy books I have read. Everything about this book - it's cover, plot, characters, setting, language - is amazing!

Language

Linguistically speaking, it's one of the most well written books I have read. Everyone who has read this quartet or any other of Maggie's work praises her writing style, and I gotta hand it to her, it is quite superb! She has such a way of writing stuff, that even the simplest sentence sounds amazing. Trust me, throughout the 408 pages of this book, not even once was I bored or not interested. Here are some examples of her exhibiting even the simplest analogies in the most beautiful and descriptive way:

"Blue's heart hammered like a fist to her breastbone."
"He wore his hatred like a cruel second skin."
"Different wounds inflicted by the same weapon."
"His mind was logical, but his traitorous heart stuttered from beat to beat."

The language is addictive. Just writing these sentences down is making me wanting to devour more of Stiefvater's books right away.

Characters

Every one the characters is super intriguing. I love each one of them.

I adore the gentleness of Adam. I really hope it's him Blue ends up with and not Gansey..*fingers crossed*

Gansey is super caring and kind, and I love how his relationship with all the raven boys is equally deep , yet unique.

Ronan is a mystery and I simply cannot wait to get to know more about Ronan in the next three books.

Noah is ... dead

Blue is opinionated, but surely the most sensible and responsible out of the crew.

The setting is gloomy and eerie. While reading the book, the atmosphere feels dark and mysterious. Props to Maggie's writing which helps make the reader feel as if they're right next to Gansey, looking for Glendower. It's safe to say I have never felt so engaged in a fantasy book before.

I cannot wait to read the next three installations!

Definitely recommend this super enjoyable fantasy book!
